The foundation of Dialyspa’s superior service quality is our commitment to go above and beyond the minimum standards of dialysis health care. We extend this commitment to supporting the renal care community at large. See how we’re involved in the community.
Dialyspa has been proud to sponsor the NKF’s Houston Kidney Walk for the third straight year in a row! Each year the walk has grown in number of participants and sponsors. The funds raised from this festive community event helps to fund the NKF’s yearly efforts to educate about the risks and treatment of chronic kidney disease.
On February 19, 2013, the Texas Renal Coalition hosted Kidney Day at the Capitol to bring awareness to the Texas Legislature about the public policy needs of kidney patients. This event helps to draw public attention to the problems of kidney disease, the need for early detection, and support for those undergoing treatment.

On October 14, 2012, the American Kidney Fund held their Houston Kidney Action Day and walkathon at Discovery Green. The purpose of Kidney Action Day is to educate those at risk for chronic kidney disease.
The leading causes of this disease are easily screened, and actions can be taken to prevent it or slow its progression if detected early enough.
The rates of kidney disease in Texas are above the national average, so this event was helpful to Houstonians wanting to learn about their risks factors.

Camp Shining Stars is a camp experience developed by the National Kidney Foundation and staffed by volunteers for children and teens from the ages of 7-17 who have Renal Dysfunction.
The Dialyspa team was out in full force to support the National Kidney Foundation at their annual Houston walk, and the renal community of Houston was too! More than doubling the participation from last year, the NKF hosted a fun and informative event!

According to the Juvenile Diabetes Relief Fund, “more than 15,000 children and 15,000 adults—approximately 80 people per day—are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) in the U.S.” JDRF is the largest charitable supporter of research for type 1 diabetes. The Dialyspa Allstars laced up their sneakers to walk for this organization.
Walkers and renal care givers met at Discovery Green on a beautiful morning to walk in support of the American Kidney Fund, an organization that fights kidney disease by offering health education, prevention efforts, and providing direct financial support to patients in need. Along with festivities, the AKF arranged free health screenings, education, and cooking classes. The Dialyspa Allstar team was proud to be a part of this effort.
The Dialyspa team was at the Kidney 2 Kidney informative and interactive workshop hosted by Pacesetters in partnership with the National Kidney Foundation. This community service provides participants immediate feedback and free health screenings.
With close to one thousand walk registrants and numerous volunteers, the day was a fun and inspiring fundraiser that brought together families, friends, and the community to support the millions of Americans who have chronic kidney disease.
The money raised at this walk will enable the National Kidney Foundation to continue providing free screenings for kidney disease across the United States. In addition to free screenings, the NKF is an invaluable resource that provides public and professional programs that educate the community about the prevention of kidney disease. Ongoing research for the treatment and prevention of CKD is also supported by funds raised at these kidney walks.
Knowing what an invaluable resource the NKF is to the kidney health community, Dialyspa was proud to be a platinum sponsor of the 2011 Houston Kidney Walk!
Feria de Salud is the Latino/Hispanic outreach program for the American Diabetes Association in Houston. In its fourth year, this is an outdoor community event intended to reach thousands with the important message that they could be at risk for diabetes.
This day-long event provided patients, family members, and caregivers the chance to not only tour the Texas State Capitol, but also meet with their state representatives to discuss renal issues. Dialyspa was there to support this cause.
